Arsene Wenger Hails PSG as 'Complete Team' Ahead of Arsenal Champions League Final
Wenger: PSG Are a Complete Team for Arsenal Final

Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Paris Saint-Germain, describing them as a 'complete team' following their aggregate victory over Bayern Munich, which sets up a Champions League final showdown with Arsenal.

The French champions secured a 6-5 aggregate win against Bayern, advancing to the final in Budapest on May 30. After a thrilling 5-4 victory in the first leg, Luis Enrique's side held Bayern to a 1-1 draw in Munich to book their place in the final.

PSG, who defeated Arsenal in the semi-finals last season en route to their first Champions League title, will now face the Gunners once again in the final. Arsenal reached their first Champions League final since 2006 after a hard-fought semi-final win over Atletico Madrid.

Wenger's Verdict on PSG

Speaking on beIN SPORTS, the legendary former Arsenal manager was impressed by PSG's performance against Bayern. 'After a game like that you could say Bayern were not at the expected level or you can say that PSG had a really solid game,' Wenger said. 'Personally I would go with the second and say PSG defended fantastically well and they maintained the press and never gave a chance to Bayern or any hope of a comeback.'

Wenger added: 'Overall I would outline the quality of PSG who have become a really complete team with great cohesion. They also have another extraordinary quality, and that is that any striker in this team in a one-versus-one finishes with a shot on goal and it's unstoppable. They make sure the goalkeeper has to make a save and that's a formidable quality.'

Enrique and Kvaratskhelia React

PSG head coach Luis Enrique expressed his delight after the match, saying: 'Good memories. We could leave the match with a lot of intensity. The defence were better than the attack. The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive. We're so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row.'

He continued: 'It was very intense. Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar, we love to press higher. We are very happy. In two days I'm going to celebrate my birthday. I'm very happy. We're in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League. We want to give our supporters that kind of gift.'

PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also shared his thoughts: 'Very happy we're in the final. We know it will be difficult against Arsenal. Bayern is one of the best teams right now. It was very difficult. The hardest one in the season. We showed we can play against these teams. I will give everything for this badge.'

The final is set to be a thrilling encounter between two top European sides, with Arsenal aiming to end their 20-year wait for Champions League glory.
