Marcus Rashford has hinted that his future remains uncertain after helping Barcelona clinch the La Liga title with a stunning free-kick in a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Nou Camp. The Manchester United loanee scored the opening goal before Ferran Torres added a second as Hansi Flick's side retained the trophy with three games to spare.
Speaking after the match, the England international described the triumph as the 'perfect ending' to his spell at Barcelona. 'This is the perfect way I want it to end,' Rashford told ESPN. 'I'm very happy, I just want to enjoy today. I live in the moment. At the end of the season we will see. I came here to win and we do this, so I'm very happy. It's an incredible feeling.'
Rashford's future has been a topic of speculation since he joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United last summer. The 28-year-old has been in impressive form for the Catalan giants, helping them secure their 29th La Liga title. However, when asked if he would still be a Barcelona player next season, Rashford remained coy. 'I don't know,' he said. 'I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can. This is one more to add to this. This is a wonderful team, they're going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special.'
Barcelona's victory over Real Madrid was a dominant display, with Rashford's early free-kick setting the tone. The win leaves Barcelona seven league titles behind record champions Real Madrid, but the team's performance under Flick has been widely praised. Rashford's comments suggest he is open to staying at the Nou Camp, but a return to Manchester United remains a possibility.
The La Liga triumph adds to Rashford's growing list of honours, and he expressed his delight at being part of such a successful squad. 'The feeling is amazing,' he added. 'It's been a long season with ups and downs, but I think we deserved to win La Liga.'
