Rumours of Zelda-themed Switch 2 and controller
The speculation originates from Nintendo YouTuber Mike Odyssey, who claimed on X that a new Switch 2 Pro Controller tied to the Ocarina of Time remake is planned, though he suggested it would arrive ‘instead of a themed Nintendo Switch 2.’ However, Necro Felipe, editor at Brazilian site Universo Nintendo and a reliable source of Nintendo rumours, corroborated the controller’s existence, stating he has seen it in person. He described it as ‘Green (at the tips, similar to that of Splatoon) with gold, the Triforce crest centred between the buttons – and +.’ Felipe accurately leaked the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen re-releases in the past, lending credibility to his claims, though he does not confirm whether a Zelda-themed Switch 2 is also in production.
Another insider, Shpeshal Nick, insists that both a Zelda console and controller are on the way, but asserts they are not specifically themed around Ocarina of Time. This aligns with Nintendo’s history of releasing themed hardware for major Zelda launches and anniversaries, such as the Tears of the Kingdom-themed Switch OLED and controller, as well as various Zelda 3DS models and a Wind Waker Wii U GamePad.
