Man United Players Get 25% Pay Rise for Champions League

Manchester United's qualification for the Champions League has resulted in a 25% salary increase for the majority of the squad. While not all players will receive the full 25% rise, most will benefit from the club's return to Europe's elite competition.

Top Earners and New Contracts

Bruno Fernandes, the club's highest-paid player, will earn approximately £250,000 per week following the increase. Kobbie Mainoo recently signed a new five-year contract worth around £120,000 per week, while Harry Maguire also agreed to a new one-year deal. Both players' contracts are believed to include incentives related to Champions League participation. It remains unclear which players will miss out on the increase entirely, as this depends on individual contract clauses.

Champions League Qualification

United secured their return to the Champions League for the first time in two years after a victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. They currently sit third in the Premier League with 64 points, having won 10 of 14 games under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Carrick, a former United midfielder, is expected to be offered the chance to continue as head coach next season following his impressive record since taking over from Ruben Amorim in January.
