Martin Keown has urged Mikel Arteta to replace two Arsenal players following the heartbreaking Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal fell short in Budapest, losing 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Kai Havertz gave Arsenal an early lead, but Ousmane Dembele equalized in the second half. The shootout saw Eberechi Eze and Gabriel miss crucial spot-kicks, costing Arsenal the trophy.
Keown's Transfer Recommendations
Speaking on TNT Sports, Keown highlighted the need for a new striker. 'Kai Havertz played 90 minutes but it's only the second full game he's finished in 18 months. Viktor Gyokeres had a difficult night, so that could be an area Arsenal look at. Maybe left-wing as well.' Arteta is expected to receive significant funds for the summer transfer window after Arsenal's first Premier League title in 22 years.
Steven Gerrard's View
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard agreed, saying: 'You need more than one top striker. You need to keep refreshing. Arsenal are in a magnificent place, but you have to keep adding game-changers at the top of the pitch.'
Declan Rice's Support
Declan Rice defended his teammates after their penalty misses. 'To miss a penalty in a Champions League final is not nice, but we love them. Without those two, we wouldn't have won the Premier League. It's football and it's cruel. We take the positives and keep going.'
Arsenal will hold a trophy parade on Sunday to celebrate their Premier League triumph before focusing on next season's ambitions.
