A 17-year-old boy from Plumstead has been charged with four counts of rape following an alleged incident in south east London, according to the Metropolitan Police. The charges relate to an attack on a teenage girl along Kingsdale Road in Plumstead on the afternoon of September 9.
Charges and court appearances
The teenager was investigated by police after the alleged incident and subsequently charged with four counts of rape. He appeared at Bromley Youth Magistrates' Court on September 16, where he was remanded. The boy appeared again at the same court on September 23 and has been remanded to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on October 13.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the details, stating: "Officers investigating the rape of a teenage girl on Kingsdale Road, Plumstead on Wednesday, 9 September have charged a boy in connection with the incident." The spokesperson added that the boy, aged 17, from the Plumstead area, has been charged with four counts of rape and appeared at Bromley Youth Magistrates’ court on Wednesday, 16 September.
Police statement and remand
The spokesperson further explained: "He appeared at the same court on Wednesday, 23 September and has been remanded to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 13 October." The case is being handled by the Metropolitan Police, with the investigation focusing on the incident on Kingsdale Road.
The boy remains in custody pending his next court appearance, where further proceedings will take place. The police have not released additional details about the alleged incident at this stage.
