Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) is set to face a terrifying ordeal in Hollyoaks next week when what she believes is a meeting with ex Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) takes a shocking turn.
Teens plot to expose Leela
The local teenagers suspect Leela is having an affair with Maddox’s (Sam Meyer) stepdad Jonah (Matthew Wolfenden). To prove it, they devise a plan: they leave Leela a note supposedly from Jonah, signed with a ‘J’, arranging a meeting. Leela, however, misinterprets the letter, thinking it is from Joel.
Meanwhile, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) visits Leela and reveals that Joel has been in touch about seeing their baby Joseph. Joel is currently in prison, having been jailed for the murder of Tommy Odenkirk (Brandon Fellows). Viewers will recall that the real killer was serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield). Although the murder charges were dropped, Joel remained behind bars for GBH charges and was moved to Scotland to serve his sentence.
Leela walks into a trap
Cleo is uncertain about allowing Joel to see Joseph and seeks Leela’s advice, hoping they agree on the matter. But the situation escalates when Leela receives the letter from ‘J’ and believes it is from Joel, wanting to meet. After some thought, Leela decides to go to the meeting spot.
However, instead of Joel, four masked strangers emerge, pointing paintball guns directly at her. The teens intended to catch Leela with Jonah, but things go further than planned.
Aftermath and consequences
Later, the teens try to act as if they were at school the whole time, hoping to avoid detection. But the next day, they wake up to the disappointed faces of their parents. The question remains: will Leela be okay, and will the culprits face justice?
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or airs on E4 at 7pm.
