A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital after being found with stab wounds on a street in Woolwich yesterday evening. Officers discovered the victim on Herbert Road at approximately 5.45pm on September 26 and provided first aid before London Ambulance Service paramedics arrived to take him to hospital.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement this afternoon that his injuries are not life-changing. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and enquiries into what happened remain ongoing.
Police cordon and bus diversions
As part of the investigation, a cordon was set up towards the Plumstead Common Road end of Herbert Street. This caused diversions to two bus routes, both of which are now running as usual. London's Air Ambulance was reportedly seen in the area as part of the emergency response, according to local accounts.
