A football fan in his 60s was knocked unconscious after stepping in to defend a friend during an unprovoked attack before a Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion last month.
The incident occurred at approximately 5pm on April 18, as the victim and his group were leaving White Hart Lane station. Two men from a rival supporters' group began shoving and pulling the victim's friend, causing his glasses to fall to the ground.
When the man in his 60s intervened to help his friend, a third assailant punched him in the back of the head. The blow sent him to the ground at the top of the station stairs, where he lay unconscious for several seconds.
A fourth member of the opposing group prevented another of the victim's friends from intervening. All four suspects then left the Overground station and have not been identified.
Police appeal for information
British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of four men they wish to speak to in connection with the assault. Officers believe these individuals may have crucial information to assist the investigation.
In a statement, BTP said: "Officers would like to speak to the men pictured, as they believe they may have information which could help their investigation."
How to help
Anyone who recognises the men is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 490 of 18 April. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The victim sustained a concussion and was treated at the scene. He has since been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.
