British Gas is cutting 1,300 jobs, comprising 500 call centre positions and 800 offshore and back-office roles, according to a correction published by The Guardian. The newspaper initially reported that 1,300 call centre jobs were being cut, but later clarified that only 500 call centre jobs are affected, with the remainder coming from other areas.
Ferris Bueller Interview Attribution Error
In a separate correction, The Guardian acknowledged that interviews for a feature about the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off were conducted by Simon Bland, not Simon Broughton as originally stated. The error occurred in the print edition only.
Other recently amended articles include a piece on the climate crisis-driven heat 'sucking soils dry' as extreme drought hits Europe.
