The BBC has unveiled the lineup for Celebrity Traitors series two, featuring stars such as Richard E. Grant, Ross Kemp, and Joe Lycett. The all-star spin-off, which debuted last year, became one of the most talked-about shows since the original series launched in 2022. Comedian Alan Carr emerged victorious in the tense finale, outlasting his fellow contestants as the last Traitor standing.
Comedians Dominate the Castle
This year, even more comedians are set to enter the castle, including James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Miranda Hart, Rob Beckett, and Romesh Ranganathan. They join a roster of 21 confirmed names, with contestants either designated as Faithful or Traitor. The celebrities will face nightly challenges, including murder and banishment, alongside actors Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, and Martin Sheen.
Fan Reactions to Rob and Romesh
However, some fans have expressed frustration over the inclusion of Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, citing their frequent television appearances. Social media users shared their thoughts as the lineup dropped. User imnickb4 described their casting as 'inevitable,' while LDB03 sarcastically wrote, 'Thank god we’re getting more Rob and Romesh.' Ironfan94 playfully called it 'refreshing' to see the pair. Less charitably, fanvfavourites suggested they could 'stay home,' and Chris_Taylor32 noted that Romesh had 'taken part in everything.'
Not all feedback was negative. Superbardiuk described themselves as 'super excited,' and RuffustColin praised the casting as 'excellent.' Rob and Romesh previously co-starred in the Sky One series Rob and Romesh Vs, which ran for eight series. They have also appeared on Last One Laughing and Taskmaster. Romesh currently hosts The Weakest Link on BBC One.

Romesh’s Surprise Appearance
Romesh’s participation may surprise some, given his previous comments about taking a 'step back' from television. Speaking on Desert Island Discs, he said, 'There is no strategy. There’s no game plan. I have no endgame. I do feel like I’m sort of settling into winding things up.' He added, 'I am probably going to just be a bit more measured in what I do going forward.' Despite this, he reassured fans that he is not retiring.
Celebrity Traitors will return to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
