Emmerdale's Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) has made a shocking decision that leaves Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) stunned: he hires his biological father Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) to work in the café. This comes after Kev's ex Kylie kidnapped Lewis and held him for ransom over a diamond made from a dead cat's ashes.
Lewis forgives Kev after kidnapping ordeal
Lewis was kidnapped by Kev's ex Kylie, who tortured him by serving chicken dinosaurs and potato smiley faces. He was saved when Ross Barton (Michael Parr) knocked Kev unconscious and traded him for Lewis. Despite this traumatic start, Lewis's good-natured heart leads him to give Kev a second chance. Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) was the only one who welcomed Kev back, while Ross remains furious about Kev's arrival.
Nicola's concern and Lewis's decision
Nicola, who acts as Lewis's protective rottweiler, feels guilty and worries for him. However, Lewis tells her he has made a huge decision: he has recruited Kev to work in the café. Everyone, including Nicola, is shocked and appalled. Lewis soon begins to think he has made a mistake. Kev had changed his name to shake off his dodgy past, but his efforts at parenting were initially pathetic, leading Claudette to confiscate his cheese toasties.
Will Lewis regret his choice?
Lewis's pure heart may lead him to regret hiring Kev, as Ross wants Kev gone and the café job could bring more drama. The question remains: will Lewis live to regret this decision?
