All of the scheming, plotting and manipulation comes to a head in Emmerdale next week, as the day of Dawn Taylor and Joe Tate's wedding finally arrives, bringing death and carnage to the village.
Wedding Day Chaos Unfolds
On Monday, August 24, Graham Foster swallows his concerns and promises Joe the day will go off without a hitch, but Dawn panics that Kim Tate's return will scupper her plan. When Graham tricks Lucas, played by Noah Ryan Aspinall, into confessing all about the escape plan, he confronts Dawn, reasoning that Joe can't have been behind the attack on Billy. Confused and desperate, she knocks Graham out and flees.
Caleb Miligan, played by William Ash, basks in the glee of having destroyed Joe's life and hands Billy Fletcher a wad of cash to take, though Billy privately bristles at being a pawn in Caleb's game. Despite Ruby's warnings to keep control, Caleb can't help antagonise Joe, and when his wedding invitation is rescinded, he decides to blow the secret that Dawn is about to abandon him. With Jimmy King betrayed and hurt by Caleb and Ruby's scheme, Caleb's conscience is pricked and he tries to sweeten the cruel deal they've landed with him. Though Bob Hope, played by Tony Audenshaw, tries his best to lift Jimmy, it's clear there's much more to the situation.
Caleb Revels in Victory
On Wednesday, August 26, Caleb feels utterly victorious as he revels in revealing that Dawn has fled the village with Billy and taken Joe's family with him. Certain that Joe can do nothing to stop what he's set in motion, Caleb continues to brag that he's successfully split Joe from his unborn baby, with Dawn and Billy taking his son or daughter somewhere he'll never be able to locate them.
Village Struck by Horror
On Thursday, August 27, the village is hit with a seismic wave of horror when the crowd hear of a terrible incident. The nature of the incident remains unclear, but it promises to bring death and carnage to the wedding day.
On Friday, August 28, as D.I Ramsden, played by Chelsea Edge, continues to investigate, it becomes clear that there's a deep resentment driving her. Meanwhile, Gabby Thomas, played by Rosie Bentham, watches from a distance at breaking point, wracked with guilt and with her emotion plastered all over her face.
Broken Men and Dark Motivations
Jimmy King is utterly wounded to realise how badly Caleb and his Machiavellian wife, Ruby Miligan, have duped him. With his end fast approaching, the question remains whether he will go out a broken man. Elsewhere, it becomes abundantly clear that D.I Ramsden is driven by something much darker than she's letting on, and Gabby Thomas looks increasingly guilty as the week progresses.
