Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) had the opportunity to tell Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) that he is homeless during today's episode of Emmerdale, but he could not bring himself to do so. Belle began to grow concerned about her boyfriend a couple of days ago, when she got the impression that Kammy did not want her to meet his family. She attempted to see how he felt about the idea yesterday by suggesting a visit to his house to wish his relatives a happy Eid. Kammy immediately grew cold and shut the idea down, and the fact that he snapped at her left Belle worried.
At Take a Vow, Belle expressed her thoughts to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), but eventually concluded that her anxieties were a result of her past relationship being so traumatic. Belle had hit the nail on the head, however, when it came to whether Kammy was hiding something from her. In a barn on Emmerdale Farm, the beloved character was hiding under a blanket, completely freezing and waiting for his baked beans to heat up ahead of spending the night there.
Kammy revealed more about his predicament in today's episode, but not to Belle. In the middle of one of Robert's fields, Kammy was caught with a can of petrol and a lighter in hand. Robert and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) immediately assumed he was the person who had been setting fire to things on their land, and did not buy that Kammy was actually planning on torching his car. Backed into a corner, Kammy hopped into his vehicle and left. Even though he is not the firestarter, the fact that he did not admit his situation to Aaron and Robert made him look guilty.
Actor Shebz Miah previously revealed that Kammy is left 'really annoyed' when he is accused, and that the situation brings back 'a lot of trauma' for the character. 'He's not had an easy ride, and all of this is bringing back a lot of unpleasant memories for him. And it's just one of those things where, because he's got no one, he's got no leg to stand on', he said. 'And I think it's that right person, wrong time thing, and he sort of accepts it, but it's just one voice against the rest of the village, and there's nothing you can do about that, unfortunately. But I also imagine it's not the first time that Kammy has been in a position like that. He has been against the majority quite often before.'
Believing the culprit had been found, Aaron made his way to see Belle and updated her about her partner apparently being a criminal. Meanwhile, Kammy had arrived at Dale View and was begging Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) for some help. By this point, Kammy recognised that he had no other option but to tell his best mate that he does not have a home. Their conversation was brought to a sudden halt due to Belle arriving. Vinny immediately let her in, and hoped that Kammy would be as honest with her as he was with him. Sadly, Kammy just could not bring himself to tell Belle. This left her with the view that her previous worries about him were accurate, and that he was a bad person. She told Kammy to leave the village because once the rest of her family discovers what he has done, they will not want him around. Belle left the house and broke down in tears.
Even though it looks like Kammy may be on his way out of the Dales, Shebz has confirmed that there will come a point where his character reveals his agony to Belle. 'I think when Kammy realises he is backed into the corner and he's got no way out, I think he does submit, which we will see when it comes out later on, and that's when, as I say, the stakes are very high for him', he said. 'I think he also does see the innocence, and he does really, really like her. I think the connection he's had with her so far is really genuine, and he's not really had anyone care for him sincerely like that.'
He added: 'I think because of that, he just puts his hand up and he waves the white flag and confesses everything, which we'll see later on. It is traumatic for him, because we do talk about things that have happened previously. However, he's doing it because deep down, he genuinely has submitted to Belle and he just wants to address it now.' If Kammy tells Belle everything, will this prevent him from leaving the village?
