Emmerdale's Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) believes he is untouchable, but his fiancée Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is about to shatter his world like one of Kim's expensive crystal ornaments. Joe's arrogance has reached new heights after acquiring the farm he always wanted and framing Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) for crimes she did not commit. He seems to have no scruples left, yet he is so blinded by his perceived success that he fails to notice what is happening right under his nose.
Dawn has become utterly disgusted with Joe, and there is no turning back. Over the past few weeks, she has uncovered the truth about his underhanded schemes, which he had cleverly hidden from her. The turning point came when she walked in on Robert (Ryan Hawley) going through Joe's computer, discovering the video Joe used to blackmail Robert—showing Victoria killing John. That red flag waved furiously.
Dawn then visited Moira to get her perspective and learned even more. The two women devised a plan to make Joe pay. Now, Dawn despises her husband-to-be so much that she cannot continue the charade. Joe's excitement about their baby plans only makes things more sickening. Dawn seeks reassurance and an escape route from Moira, but Moira urges her to persevere, keeping the money in mind as motivation for the legal battle ahead. Dawn is deeply involved now—will she see it through?
Dawn's Explosive Exit
While fans are gutted that Dawn is leaving the soap after such a powerful storyline, they are glad she will likely take Joe down with her. Poor Joe—couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 or streams from 7am on ITVX and YouTube.
