The Guardian is seeking stories from football fans who support national teams with which they have no personal or familial connection. While FIFA requires players to have a 'genuine link' to a nation to represent it at the World Cup, no such rule applies to supporters.
Who can participate?
We invite fans aged 18 and over who are backing a national team at the 2026 World Cup that is not their own. Reasons may include admiration for a particular player, allegiance to clubs associated with that team, or simply a preference for their playing style.
How to share your experience
You can submit your story using the form provided. Contributions may be anonymous if you wish. All responses are encrypted and only the Guardian will have access to the data, which will be used solely for this feature and deleted when no longer required.
