Ousmane Dembele has eased any injury concerns ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League final showdown with Arsenal. The 2026 Ballon d'Or winner, who has enjoyed another sensational campaign in the French capital with 19 goals and 11 assists in 39 appearances, was forced off after just 27 minutes in PSG's final Ligue 1 match against Paris FC at the weekend.
Dembele's Assurance
Despite missing training on Wednesday, the former Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona star is confident he will be ready to start against the Gunners in Budapest on 30 May. 'I'm doing very well,' Dembele told RMC Sport. 'I had a slight scare against Paris FC, but I'm fine and I'll be ready for the final.' He added, 'Will I be 100% for the final? Yes, yes, I think so, yes, I'll be ready. I have no doubt about it, I hope to be on the pitch on May 30th.'
Managing Injury History
Injuries have been a recurring theme throughout Dembele's career, but the forward believes he has learned to manage those problems and know when to stop to avoid risks. 'I've had so many minor scares or major injuries in my career,' he said. 'Whether here at PSG or even before, especially with the big matches coming up, especially this final, I preferred to stop and above all not take any risks.'
Key Player for PSG
Dembele has been a thorn in Arsenal's side before, scoring the only goal in the first leg of their semi-final last season, which PSG won 3-1 on aggregate. His seven Champions League goals this campaign include three across both semi-final legs against Bayern Munich. The defending champions have a relatively clean bill of health heading into the final, though Achraf Hakimi has not played since suffering a muscle injury in the semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich but is hoped to be available.
With Dembele's fitness confirmed, PSG will look to him to lead the attack against Arsenal in what promises to be a thrilling final.
