New photographs have emerged showing forensics officers from the Metropolitan Police at the scene of a fatal stabbing in Crystal Palace, south London, where a murder investigation is now underway.
Incident details
Police were called to Westow Hill at 3:39 am on Sunday, June 21, by the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing. Officers found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds. Despite immediate efforts by police and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man, also in his 30s, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. His injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police cordon and investigation
An extensive police cordon remains in place on Westow Hill, with businesses closed to the public and a heavy police presence in the area. Officers are conducting forensic examinations and house-to-house inquiries.
