Ben Stokes is back in action for Durham as they face Lancashire in the County Championship at Chester-le-Street. The England Test captain is playing his first county match of the season, having been rested for the recent Test series against Sri Lanka.

Stokes, 34, last played for Durham in September 2024. His return provides a significant boost to the side, who are currently third in Division Two. He is expected to bat in the middle order and bowl medium pace. Durham won the toss and elected to bat first.
