WWE sensation Je'Von Evans is poised to make his WrestleMania debut this Sunday in a thrilling Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship, and the 22-year-old high-flyer is boldly proclaiming that he and his peers are set to usher in a transformative new era for professional wrestling.
A New Generation Takes Center Stage
In an exclusive interview with Metro, Evans expressed unwavering confidence that WWE is on the brink of a seismic shift, driven by a cadre of young talents including Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Carmelo Hayes, and UK standout Leon Slater. "I feel like this next generation is about to turn wrestling into a whole different attitude, a whole different sport," Evans declared with enthusiasm. "I honestly feel like it's gonna be like a new Attitude Era! I feel highly confident saying that."
Building a Legacy Together
The rising star, who is featured in this year's WWE 2K26 video game, emphasized the collective potential of his fellow newcomers. When questioned about the possibility of headlining WrestleMania in the future, Evans responded emphatically, "Fo' sho', most definitely." He reflected on past collaborations, noting, "We did our thing at TNA – of course, the finish was upset, but we got so many years to redo it... Hopefully next time go a bit crazier, have a better match and steal the show again."
Learning from the Legends
Evans has already garnered attention for his electrifying performances against established WWE icons. He recounted a pivotal moment involving Randy Orton on NXT, where a missed high-flying move led to an RKO attempt. "I feel like that was, for sure, a moment that I learned from," Evans shared. After discussing the incident with Booker T and Orton himself, he successfully executed the sequence at this year's Royal Rumble, describing it as "sexy" and "tough."
Stealing the Show at WrestleMania
As he prepares to face off against Rey Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee, Rusev, and Penta for the Intercontinental Championship, Evans is brimming with a mix of excitement and nerves. "I'm excited, nervous. I'm so blessed," he admitted. "I'm just happy to be here, to be able to say my first WrestleMania match was for the IC Title in a ladder match at WrestleMania at 21, it's great. It's wild."
What to Expect from the Daredevil Star
Known for his daredevil style, Evans teased fans with hints of what's to come. "Y'all can expect me to try to win. Y'all can expect me to do something crazy sometimes," he revealed. "Maybe, I haven't really thought about it yet. And y'all can expect me to... get bouncy! And be the new IC Champion, the youngest champion. Let's make history."
WWE 2K26 is currently available for gaming enthusiasts. For viewers in the UK and Ireland, Netflix subscribers can access Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and all WWE Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania live from Las Vegas on April 18th and 19th.
