Ryanair has introduced a new EcoHub cabin backpack made from recycled materials, part of its commitment to sustainability and reducing plastic waste. The backpack, priced at €25, is designed to fit under the seat and is made from recycled polyester, equivalent to 15 plastic bottles.
EcoHub Backpack Features and Availability
The EcoHub backpack is available for purchase on Ryanair's website and at selected airports. It measures 40x20x25cm, meeting the airline's small cabin bag size requirements. According to Ryanair, the backpack is lightweight, durable, and water-resistant.
Ryanair's Sustainability Efforts
This launch is part of Ryanair's broader sustainability strategy, which includes reducing single-use plastics and investing in fuel-efficient aircraft. The airline aims to eliminate non-recyclable plastics from its operations by 2025.
Ryanair's Director of Marketing, Dara Brady, stated: "We are delighted to launch our new EcoHub cabin backpack, made from recycled materials. This is another step in our sustainability journey, helping our customers travel more responsibly."
Impact on Travelers and Environment
The backpack offers an affordable option for passengers who want to avoid checked baggage fees while supporting eco-friendly initiatives. By using recycled materials, Ryanair contributes to reducing plastic waste in landfills and oceans.
