Time Out Market London, the brand's first in the UK capital, is confirmed to open in the first half of 2028 at 55 Regent Street, a Grade II-listed building in the West End. The three-floor venue will cover over 26,400 square feet and will host a curated selection of London's top restaurants, bars, and food businesses, alongside a year-round cultural events programme.
Flagship Venue in Historic Location
The site, originally built in 1925 for the Swan & Edgar department store and later known as the home of Tower Records, will become Time Out's global flagship. This marks a significant milestone for the company, which was founded in London in 1968. The venue is part of a wider regeneration of 10 Piccadilly by the Crown Estate, with sustainability features including energy-efficient design, food waste reduction, and local sourcing. The project is expected to create around 130 local jobs.
Curated by Local Editors
Every Time Out Market is curated by local editorial teams, and London will be no exception. The venue aims to reflect the city's energy, diversity, and creativity, featuring the most exciting chefs, restaurateurs, and cultural experiences. While the specific culinary line-up and cultural programme remain under wraps, the Market will bring together hospitality, culture, media, sponsorship, and live experiences.
Leadership Perspectives
Chris Ohlund, CEO of Time Out Group plc, called the partnership with The Crown Estate "one of the most significant milestones in Time Out's nearly 60-year history." He added, "Bringing the globally recognised Time Out Market concept home to London is both a celebration of where we began and a statement of where we are going." Ohlund emphasised that London is "one of the world's greatest cities for food and culture," and that Piccadilly Circus is the ideal location to showcase it.
Charles Owen, Head of Regent Street at The Crown Estate, said, "We're proud to welcome the UK's first Time Out Market to Regent Street as the brand's global flagship." He noted that the Market will "introduce an exciting new food and drink destination in the heart of London's West End," helping to drive footfall and broaden the area's appeal.
Global Expansion Continues
The first Time Out Market launched in Lisbon in 2014, and the concept has since expanded to cities including New York, Dubai, Cape Town, Osaka, Budapest, and Vancouver. Currently, there are 13 Markets across four continents. Time Out Market London will join this network, serving as a blueprint for future Markets worldwide.
