Stalking surged during the pandemic in London, with numbers staying persistently elevated since lockdown restrictions ended. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust cautions that stalking "continues to be overlooked" as a factor in homicide and suicide cases.

Impact on Victims

Stalking affects both men and women, yet according to the latest Government statistics, nearly three-quarters (73%) of all victims are female. Research indicates that more than 90% of those targeted by stalkers suffer lasting psychological effects as a result.

The map illustrates that the prevalence of stalking varies considerably across different parts of the country, with London boroughs showing some of the highest rates. Authorities urge victims to report incidents and seek support.
