Two cleaners from South London have revealed shocking before-and-after images of a flat left in a deplorable state by tenants who were evicted for failing to pay rent. Bia Salles and Gill Souza, owners of Magma Cleaners, have been cleaning homes and offices across London since 2011. They have encountered properties with broken toilets, trashed living rooms, and damaged bathrooms, but they consistently restore them to pristine condition.
Property in South Norwood Left Unrecognisable
One particular property in South Norwood was left in a horrific state after tenants were evicted for not paying rent. The landlord called in Bia and Gill to clean the flat for new tenants. The cleaners managed to restore the property to its original condition, as shown in a series of before-and-after photos posted on Facebook.
They wrote: "A beautiful home was left unrecognisable after the tenants left. They were evicted after 4 years when they refused to pay rent. The landlord was able to quickly transform this property back to its original form ready for new tenants; a stressful situation efficiently resolved."
Challenges Faced by Cleaners
Gill told MyLondon: "There are some properties we turn up to that are disgusting, but you get used to it. I'd say the most shocking thing is when you turn up, and you see rats and mice in the property, which is terrible for us. There will be so many in the properties. We do it all over London, it doesn't matter the size."
