At the time of writing, bidding has already begun, with a Dolce & Gabbana "Material Girl" T-shirt from 2001 attracting 16 bids, including one at $800. A RED Valentino jumpsuit has reached $600, and the "mom" necklace has a bid of $700. In contrast, a Goop black jumpsuit is currently only at $50, and two photos of Paltrow's ex-husband Chris Martin and his band Coldplay have a bid of $100.

Fashion writer Hannah Jackson from US Vogue commented on the auction, pointing out that the more prosaic items challenge the typical pedestal on which celebrities are placed. Just because she owns sweaters, prescription glasses, and coasters doesn't make her inherently relatable." However, the collection also features standout pieces that underscore Paltrow's star status, such as an Atelier Versace gown worn to the 2010 Country Music Awards and a 1999 Christian Dior dress designed by John Galliano.
