British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an investigation into the sexual assault of a woman on a Jubilee line train in East London. The incident occurred at approximately 7:40 PM on Friday, May 22, when a female passenger was attacked by a man on the Underground service.
Suspect left at Stratford station
The alleged perpetrator exited the train at Stratford station and has not been traced nearly two months later. BTP is now releasing a photo of a man they believe may have information crucial to the ongoing investigation.
“Detectives believe the man in the image may have information that could assist their ongoing investigation,” the force stated in a release this morning.
Description of the suspect
The man is described as wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage print trousers, sunglasses, and a distinctive red baseball cap with “Super Bowl” written across the front. He was also carrying a backpack with black straps and wearing white wired earphones.
Anyone who recognises the individual is urged to contact BTP immediately.
Separate incident on the Overground
In a separate case, BTP is also appealing for information about a man who exposed himself on the London Overground. The incident occurred between Walthamstow and Wood Green, where the suspect crouched down in the wheelchair area before revealing his genitals.
