A 61-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead from a crossbow bolt wound at a property in Suffolk.
Emergency Services Discover Fatal Injury
Paramedics called police to an address on Lordscroft Lane in Haverhill shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, December 3rd. They had discovered a man, aged in his 50s, with serious injuries. Despite medical efforts, he died a short time later at the scene.
Initially, police treated the death as unexplained but suspicious. However, a post-mortem examination later provided a shocking cause: the man had been killed by a crossbow bolt.
Arrest and Bail Pending Further Investigation
Officers arrested a 61-year-old woman at the scene. She is believed to have been known to the victim. The woman was detained on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail. She must return to the police on March 2 while inquiries continue.
A police scene guard remains in place at the property in Lordscroft Lane. Photographs from the location show the familiar sight of police tape cordoning off the front of the address.

Suffolk Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. They have asked witnesses or those with knowledge to contact the major investigation team directly.
