US-Iran Talks Cancelled Amid Hezbollah-Israel Strikes

US vice-president JD Vance was scheduled to fly to Switzerland for talks with Iran, but the meeting has been cancelled. The talks, set for Friday in the Swiss village of Obbürgen, were meant to implement a peace deal following a memorandum of understanding that opened a 60-day window for negotiating Iran's nuclear program and restoring oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Escalating Violence

The cancellation came as Hezbollah targeted Israeli forces and Israel conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon, killing several people. These were the most violent strikes since the ceasefire was established.
