Body Discovered Near High Mathernock Farm
A major police investigation is underway in Inverclyde after a man's body was discovered in a field near Kilmacolm. The grim discovery was made at approximately 9.20am on Tuesday in an area close to High Mathernock Farm.
Three Men Arrested in Connection
Police Scotland have confirmed that three men, aged 51, 45, and 44, have been arrested in connection with the death. While formal identification has not yet been completed, the family of a 50-year-old man reported missing from the Greenock area on Tuesday has been informed.
Officers are also investigating a disturbance on Lansbury Street in Greenock that was reported to police at around 2.45am on Tuesday. Enquiries are ongoing to determine if this incident is linked to the subsequent discovery of the body.
Ongoing Police Investigation
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated that 'extensive enquiries are ongoing'. The location where the body was found is a rural area situated roughly 15 miles west of Glasgow, and the scene remains under police scrutiny as forensic work continues.
