Teenager Hospitalised After Daytime Stabbing
A 19-year-old man was rushed to a major trauma centre yesterday afternoon following a stabbing on a busy South London road.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 25, prompting a significant emergency service response to Rope Street in the Surrey Quays area.
Emergency Response and Investigation
According to the Metropolitan Police, the first call was logged at 2.08pm. Officers raced to the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, who had been called just minutes earlier at 2.03pm to reports of a stabbing on nearby Plough Way.
The London Ambulance Service dispatched substantial resources to the incident, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and London’s air ambulance.
Paramedics treated the teenage victim for his injuries at the scene before transporting him to hospital. A spokesperson confirmed the man was taken to a London major trauma centre.
Appeal for Witnesses as Scene Remains Active
A Met Police spokesperson provided an update on the victim's condition, stating: “His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.”
Despite the swift response, the investigation is in its early stages. The spokesperson confirmed, “At this early stage, there have been no arrests.”
An investigation has been launched and a crime scene was maintained in the area to allow for forensic work. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
