Boy, 13, denies stabbing two children at school

A 13-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder after being accused of stabbing two children at a school in North-West London. The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, allegedly attacked two children in front of other students and a teacher at Kingsbury High School in Brent on February 10.

Details of the Alleged Attack

According to the prosecution, the boy stabbed two other boys, aged 12 and 13, in the neck. One attack occurred in a classroom, the other in the school's playground. Both victims survived the stabbing. The defendant was arrested and later charged with two counts of attempted murder, which he denies.

At a hearing at the Old Bailey on July 17, 2026, the boy spoke only to confirm his identity and to deny the charges. Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb addressed the boy, who appeared via video-link, saying: "We have been talking about your case and I am afraid we haven't always used straightforward language because we have been talking about some legal things which have to be covered in this kind of hearing." She added: "The important thing is that you cooperate with your lawyers."
