Appeal for Witnesses After Alleged Sexual Assault
The British Transport Police (BTP) have launched a public appeal following an alleged sexual assault at an East London Underground station. The incident occurred at Gants Hill station shortly before 4pm on Sunday, August 17.
Details of the Incident and Suspect Description
The victim was attacked just before the evening rush hour began. After the assault, the man responsible reportedly ran onto a Central line train heading towards Stratford.
Due to unavailable CCTV footage, investigators are relying on an E-fit image to identify a person of interest. The man is described as a Black male, believed to be in his late thirties to early fifties. He has jaw-length locs and was seen wearing a black cap at the time of the incident.
How the Public Can Help
Detective Sergeant Gough, leading the investigation, stated: "We believe that the man may have information which could help our investigation and urge anyone who recognises him to get in touch."
