Naga Munchetty quits BBC Breakfast after 17 years following bullying probe
Naga Munchetty leaves BBC Breakfast after 17 years

Naga Munchetty has announced she is stepping down from BBC Breakfast after nearly two decades. The presenter, 51, joined the morning show in 2009 but will transition to Radio 5 Live, co-hosting the Breakfast show from January. She replaces current hosts Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards, who are leaving in December.

Bullying investigation prompted move

Munchetty's decision comes after a formal probe into allegations of bullying was launched last year. The investigation included accusations relating to interactions with colleagues and production staff. Munchetty remained on air while the internal HR investigation continued.

Career change to radio

Munchetty will now focus on radio, taking over the 5 Live Breakfast slot. Her departure marks the end of a 17-year tenure on BBC Breakfast, where she became a familiar face to millions of viewers.
