Manhunt for brothers over Christmas Day murder

Police have launched a public appeal to trace two brothers wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Wolverhampton in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Appeal for information after fatal attack

Trey Johnson, aged 30, was found with serious injuries on Burcot Avenue at approximately 3.30am on 25 December. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a heartfelt tribute, Mr Johnson's family described him as a 'loving father and caring soul' who had the ability to 'brighten up the room when he walks into it'.

Suspects named as police seek public help

West Midlands Police have now formally named two brothers as suspects in their murder investigation. They are Tiego Beckles, aged 20, and Richard Beckles, aged 19.

A force spokesperson confirmed that detectives have carried out multiple attempts to locate the pair but are now turning to the public for assistance. The investigation has involved speaking to witnesses and recovering CCTV footage to establish a clear sequence of events.

Detective's direct plea to suspects and public

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, from the force's Homicide unit, issued a direct appeal. 'Tiego and Richard Beckles will know that they are wanted, and I'd urge them to do the right thing and hand themselves in to police, before we find them,' she said.

DI Cordell also warned anyone assisting the brothers. 'If anyone is helping them evade arrest, they should know that they will also face arrest.'

She urged anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward immediately, assuring that all information would be treated in the strictest confidence.

The manhunt continues as police work to bring those responsible for the Christmas Day murder to justice.
