Guardian Corrections: Matt Schlapp Name Error and Cryptic Crossword Fix
Guardian Corrections: Matt Schlapp Name Error and Crossword Fix

The Guardian has issued corrections for two errors in its July 17 edition. The Conservative Political Action Conference chair is Matt Schlapp, not Mike as previously misnamed in the article “Truss is back, with a new American import – a half-empty hotel room of C-listers and bores” (page 13). Additionally, today’s cryptic crossword (No 30,063, Journal, page 8) contained an error in the clue for 6 down: “Person providing protection for country is working very hard (9)”. The word “country” should have been “state”.

Other Recent Corrections

Other recently amended articles include: “They said I had to kill him: the Haiti gangs forcing children into a life of brutality”; “As the UK and Europe battle deadly wildfires, what lessons can Australia offer?”; “Trump’s deep public health cuts hinder response to record US cyclosporiasis outbreak”; “New $1 coin featuring Trump in production at US Mint, treasury says”; and “Canefields to ocean to rolling hills: vision splendid of 135km northern NSW rail trail short-changed”.
