Marjorie Taylor Greene Reports Safety Threats Amid Trump Feud Over Epstein Files
Greene Faces Threats After Trump's Social Media Attacks

Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has publicly stated she is facing serious safety threats following a social media feud with former President Donald Trump.

The Georgia representative took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday 16 November 2025, to reveal that private security firms had contacted her with warnings about her safety.

Safety Concerns and Political Backlash

In her social media posts, Greene claimed that threats against her are being "fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world", directly referencing President Trump. She emphasised that as a woman, she takes threats from men seriously.

The congresswoman drew a parallel between her situation and the fear experienced by victims of Jeffrey Epstein, stating she now has "a small understanding of the fear and pressure" they must feel.

Greene expressed shock at Trump's aggression toward her, particularly given her record of overwhelmingly voting for President Trump's bills and agenda.

The Epstein Files Controversy

The conflict appears to stem from Greene's support for releasing documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Following the end of the US government shutdown, a petition to vote on the full release of Epstein files received enough signatures - including Greene's - to bring it to the House of Representatives.

Greene claimed that text messages she sent to Trump about the Epstein files "sent him over the edge". She suggested the president is coming after her to scare other Republicans before next week's vote on releasing the documents.

Trump has rescinded his support for the Georgia representative, calling her "wacky" and a "RINO" (Republican In Name Only). He even changed her surname from Greene to "Brown" in his posts, suggesting "Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!"

White House Response and Ongoing Fallout

The White House has responded to the Epstein documents controversy by calling selectively leaked emails an attempt to "create a fake narrative to smear President Trump". Trump has consistently denied any involvement or knowledge about Epstein's sex trafficking operation.

Trump has labelled the Epstein files a "hoax" created by Democrats to deflect from the government shutdown.

In another post on X, Greene reflected on the situation: "I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are."

She concluded that the situation "truly speaks for itself" and called for a new way forward in American politics.
