A beloved father was stabbed and killed during an aggravated burglary at his home in Coventry. Anthony Priestly, known affectionately as Anton, was discovered with fatal injuries at a property on Aldrich Avenue on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Charges Laid and Family Tributes
Alexander Neilson, aged 28, has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary in connection with the incident. West Midlands Police confirmed they are not seeking anyone else in relation to their investigation.
In a heart-wrenching tribute, Anthony's family expressed their profound grief. They said: 'Anton, we loved you so much and we cannot imagine that we're never going to see you again. Our love for you will never end.'
His daughter shared a personal message, stating: 'Thanks for all the lovely memories I have of you. Your loving daughter.'
Community Mourns a 'Funniest Bloke'
Friends and the wider community have been left devastated by the loss. Tributes have flooded social media, with one friend, Hannah Williams, writing: 'You were one of a kind. Loyal, funny, and too caring for your own good... No one deserves this especially you.'
Others described Anthony as 'the funniest bloke they have ever met', painting a picture of a man who was deeply cherished.
West Midlands Police have assured the public that specialist officers are supporting the grieving family. They have also issued an appeal for information, asking anyone with details, dash cam footage, or other recordings from the Aldrich Avenue area on the evening of the incident to contact them on 101, quoting log 418 of 18 November.
