In an article published on 3 July, page 14, titled 'How the pain gap lasts for a lifetime,' it was incorrectly stated that Prof Keisha Ray was the lead author of a 2016 Boston University study on pain-related care in emergency departments. This was not the case. At the time, Prof Ray was a postdoctoral fellow with the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics at the University of Texas Health Science Center and was quoted on the subject.
