Cassie Plummer's fate hangs in the balance
Next week on Coronation Street, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) prepares to leave Weatherfield under a dark cloud after being defeated by Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) and disowned by her loved ones. However, when Ross catches up with her before she departs, her fate becomes uncertain. According to spoilers, Cassie may not make it off the cobbles alive as the man who paid for sex and impregnated her as a child intercepts her.
On Monday, August 3, Cassie wakes up on the sofa of No.4 and laments to Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) about Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) dumping her and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) disowning her. After an emotional goodbye with Hope, Ruby, and Dorin (Isabella Flanagan, Billie Naylor, and Henry Meller), Cassie prepares to leave for a cleaning job on a cruise ship. Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) gives her a family photo to keep. Cassie asks Steve to meet her in the precinct, but Ross pulls up and offers her a lift, quickly locking the doors once she is in the car.
Dylan Wilson found unconscious
Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) still wants blood from Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) over what happened to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), and she has Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) on her side. When Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) organises a clandestine meeting between Betsy and Dylan, they are caught by Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), who furiously ejects Dylan from her house. Later, Dylan is found unconscious in the precinct and taken to hospital. The identity of the attacker is unknown, but Brody confronts Dylan on Tuesday, August 4, and the situation turns physical before Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) intervenes.
On Wednesday, August 5, Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) goes for Brody on the street, accusing him of attacking Dylan, but Dylan intervenes and swears Sean has got it wrong. The mystery deepens as viewers speculate who is guilty of putting Dylan in hospital.
Sienna Milburn's dementia-stricken mother arrives
The truth behind Sienna Milburn's (Charlotte Tyree) behaviour becomes apparent when her dementia-suffering mother, Sadie (Elizabeth Rider), arrives in Weatherfield. Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) are struck by the window into the future, as Debbie tries to help Sadie but is snapped at. Later, Sienna rushes to help her mum, who does not recognise her and lashes out. Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) tries to help, but Sienna turns her down. Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) endeavours to help Sienna, but it remains to be seen if Sienna will let her.
On Tuesday, August 4, Asha and Sienna discuss care options for Sienna's mum, while an overhearing Ronnie regrets taking Debbie away, later promising her that he will employ a carer when the time comes. On Wednesday, August 5, Asha and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) try to support Sienna, but Bernie later tells Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) how badly freaked out Sadie was, as an uneasy Ronnie listens in.
Kit Green targets Gary Windass
Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) takes aim at Gary Windass (Mikey North) after obtaining a hard drive containing data from Gary's phone. Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) questions Kit about the data, and he tells her all about Gary's involvement in Theo's murder and blames him for Sarah Platt's (Tina O'Brien) predicament. Kit discovers something intriguing within the data.
On Thursday, August 6, Kit circles Gary, teasing him with something he has learned, while suggesting that Gary visit him later to find out what it is. The discovery could prove damning for Gary.
Other storylines
Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) has a difficult conversation with Joanie Michaelis (Savanna Pennington) about the dangers of strangulation during sex. Tim Metcalfe's cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex) arrives and invites Tim over for a lads night while Sally is away. Richie later tells Tim how unhappy his marriage has become, and Tim offers him a place to stay. Fiz Dobbs is deeply suspicious of Ross as he heads off for his first day in a new job, and she is cold with him.
On Wednesday, August 5, Lauren leaves Betsy alone and returns to find her having wet herself and sobbing to a furious Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King). Lauren later tries to make amends with Betsy on Thursday.
