Woman found dead in Catford home named as Barbara McCann

The woman found dead at a property in Catford on Tuesday, June 9, has been named as 47-year-old Barbara McCann. The Metropolitan Police released her identity after a man was charged with murder.

Incident Details

Officers responded to concerns for a woman's welfare at a home in Catford Hill, Catford, at 11:35pm on June 9. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

Arrest and Charge

Following inquiries, police arrested a 32-year-old man in Hillingdon, West London, on suspicion of murder on Thursday, June 11. Derek Bradshaw, 32, of Hanover Circle in Hayes, West London, was charged on Monday, June 15 and will appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court today.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Franklin, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Barbara’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.
