Missé Beqiri, the ex-partner of late reality star Jake Hall, has opened up about the heartbreaking conversation she had with their eight-year-old daughter River following his death last month. Hall, 35, died after his head smashed through a glass door at a villa in Mallorca. His funeral took place last week.
Daughter's Painful Question
Beqiri, 39, a former star of The Only Way Is Essex and Real Housewives of Cheshire, described receiving the news of Hall's death as the 'worst phone call of her life.' In an interview with The Sun, she recounted River's question when she returned to school: 'Do people know I don't have a dad now?'
'It's so much for her little brain to process,' Beqiri said, adding that River is now undergoing therapy to help her cope with the loss. Beqiri reflected on the shock: 'Even today, I keep thinking: 'Is this really happening?' Getting that call from his family to let me know, I remember that I kept saying, 'There's no way,' and then everything went black. I can't remember any of it.'
Double Tragedy
Beqiri's grief is compounded by the loss of her brother, Flamur Beqiri, who was shot dead on his doorstep by a Swedish hitman on Christmas Eve 2019. He was 36. On Father's Day, Beqiri paid tribute to both men, sharing a photo of them smiling. She wrote: 'Two men, dads, sons, brothers. Today it's Father's Day and I'm honouring these two fathers, my brother Alex and Jake… I love you both and I know you're watching over us and the babies. Our hearts are broken and at the same time I laugh because that's all you guys ever did…'
Hall joined TOWIE in 2015 and appeared for nearly a decade before leaving in 2024. He also ran a menswear brand called By Jake Hall. Beqiri and Hall share daughter River, who is now in therapy. 'The first person I thought about was River. How can I tell her that her dad is gone? I kept thinking, 'I don't know if I am able to do this,'' Beqiri said.
