Three men have been arrested after a man was left in a life-threatening condition following an attack at a central London Underground station. British Transport Police officers responded to Charing Cross station at 5:40 AM on Sunday, May 10, after receiving reports of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his 20s suffering from severe head injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Arrests Made in Attempted Murder Investigation
Police have arrested three individuals—aged 18, 20, and 24—on suspicion of attempted murder. According to investigators, the victim first encountered the group outside a nightclub on Villiers Street at approximately 4:55 AM. A second encounter occurred outside McDonald's on Charing Cross Road around 5:20 AM. The final confrontation took place at Charing Cross Underground station at about 5:34 AM, where the victim was assaulted.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Stanley described the incident as a shocking act of violence that has left the victim in intensive care. He expressed relief that three suspects are in custody and emphasized the ongoing investigation. Stanley urged witnesses who were in the area during these incidents to come forward, especially those with mobile phone footage.
