Metropolitan Police Inspector Jason Wu has appeared in court for the first time after being charged with rape and grievous bodily harm (GBH). The 50-year-old officer, who covers his face with sunglasses, a hat and a facemask, entered Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on July 29, 2026.
Charges and Plea
Wu, based in Colindale, north-west London, within the Met's detention section, is charged with raping a woman twice, in 2019 and 2021, and with grievous bodily harm with intent. At the short hearing, he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address, and entered not guilty pleas to all charges.
Court Proceedings
The case was sent to Kingston Crown Court, where the officer is scheduled to appear on August 28 to enter formal pleas. The allegations were reported to the Met in June 2022, prompting an investigation, the force previously confirmed.
Suspension and Bail
Wu, who has been suspended from duty, was granted conditional bail. The Metropolitan Police has not provided further details on the conditions of his release.
