Szymon Babynko, a 23-year-old man originally from Poland and living in southeast London, has been charged with murder following the death of Isaac Clare-Watts at a summer solstice party. The 26-year-old carpenter was found dead at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in the Peak District after a rave on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Charges and Court Appearance
Babynko was arrested on Thursday, June 25, and has also been charged with attempted murder in relation to another incident in Hady Lane, Chesterfield, on the same day. He remains in police custody and is due to appear at Derby Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 29.
Victim's Background
Isaac Clare-Watts had recently moved back to the UK from abroad. He was working for Frank Goulding, a Nottinghamshire-based construction firm, where he had completed his joinery apprenticeship in 2016 and developed into a skilled joiner. He had taken time off last year to travel, spending time in Thailand to pursue his passion for Muay Thai.
His sister Jonimae told Metro that the family is desperate for attendees of the rave to come forward with any information. She said in a tribute: 'It breaks our hearts to let you all know that Isaac, son and brother, was found dead on Monday morning. We all know he was “Isaac the Wonder Boy” and that this will upset many. Contact is welcome but please understand we have no words or answers.'
Tributes from Employer
Frank Goulding, the construction firm, said: 'Isaac joined us as a young man in 2016 to pursue a career in construction. He successfully completed his joinery apprenticeship and developed into a very skilled joiner. Isaac was a very popular member of our team and decided last year he wanted to take some time and go and see the world, in particular spending some time in Thailand to develop his Muay Thai skills, which was a passion of his. We are all very saddened to hear the tragic news and our prayers and sympathy go to his family.'
