Ex-Girlfriend of Quadruple Amputee Cornhole Champion Details 'Dark Side' in Wake of Murder Charges

Tori Mattingly, who was romantically involved with both Dayton Webber and the man he is accused of murdering, has come forward with disturbing allegations about the champion cornhole player's behavior during their relationship. In an interview with TMZ published over the weekend, Mattingly claimed Webber would "lash out" at her throughout their four-year relationship, which ended in February 2025.

Allegations of Anger and Control Surface

Mattingly shared a video from 2024 with TMZ that purportedly shows Webber shouting at her and demanding she leave his property. She described him as having an "angry dark side" and stated she was not surprised by the murder charge against him. "You didn't live with him. I did. For four years, I saw the side of him that nobody else wanted to believe existed. The anger. The control. The abuse," Mattingly wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on an account under her name.

She added, "So no ... I'm not shocked he's being [accused] of murder. Because I know what he's capable of." Mattingly's relationship with Webber ended before she began dating Bradrick Wells, the alleged victim in the case.

Details of the Fatal Shooting Emerge

According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office in Maryland, the incident occurred on the night of March 22. Webber was driving with three passengers in his car when he began arguing with his front-seat passenger, 27-year-old Wells. The argument escalated, and Webber allegedly shot Wells twice in the head.

Webber then asked the other passengers to help him remove Wells's body from the vehicle, but they refused, fled the car, and reported the incident to police while Webber drove away with the victim. Police later discovered Wells's body in a local yard and tracked Webber and his car approximately 150 miles away in Virginia, where he had sought treatment at a hospital for an unspecified medical issue.

Webber's Background and Arrest

Dayton Webber, who became a quadruple amputee after contracting a severe bacterial infection at 10 months old, rose to prominence as a champion in the sport of cornhole. Despite losing his limbs, he excelled in wrestling and football before achieving numerous tournament wins in the American Cornhole League (ACL).

Investigators arrested Webber after he was discharged from the hospital. He now faces charges of murder, assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, as the cause of the argument has not been disclosed by authorities.

Reactions from Those Who Knew Him

Mike Hoffman, Webber's former doubles partner, expressed shock and sadness over the arrest in comments to the Guardian on March 24. "I've been mad, sad – it sucks," Hoffman said by telephone. "If the allegations are true he's made some terrible decisions." The case has garnered national attention, highlighting the stark contrast between Webber's public persona as a resilient athlete and the serious allegations now facing him.
