Epstein Files on Prince Andrew 'Secretly Redacted' After Release, Claims Report
Documents that were said to incriminate the disgraced former Prince Andrew have been 'secretly redacted' following their public release, according to recent reports. Emails mentioning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor within the Jeffrey Epstein files are now reportedly only findable through screenshots, raising questions about transparency and accountability.
Details of the Alleged Redactions
One of the redacted documents was an email exchange from 2010 between convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and a Russian woman identified as Irina. In the email, Irina replied, asking if she should message Andrew, using an abbreviated version of his email address, 'tdoy@rlwgp'. Previously, users could reverse-search this abbreviated email to locate files mentioning Andrew and his contact details on the Epstein Files archive. However, reports indicate that such searches now yield no results, suggesting the information has been removed or obscured.
Epstein survivor Jess Michaels commented on the alleged redactions, stating, 'I wish I could tell you that all of this is shocking, but for us it’s not. It’s actually predictable.' She added, 'We are continuing to be gaslit. It’s designed to protect those responsible and intimidate survivors to stop them coming forward.' Metro conducted a reverse search on the Epstein Files archive for the term 'tdoy' and the abbreviated email, confirming no matches were found.
Context and Background
The alleged redactions come in the wake of photos released as part of the latest batch of Epstein files, which appeared to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor crouched on all fours over a woman. The three pictures depicted Andrew looming over the woman, who was lying sprawled on the floor. In one scene, he stares directly into the camera, and in another, he places his hand on her abdomen.
Elsewhere in the document dump, screenshots and scans appear to show the former prince exchanged emails with Jeffrey Epstein about a 'beautiful' Russian woman and invited him to Buckingham Palace. Andrew has faced allegations, which he strenuously denies, that he sexually assaulted teenage Virginia Giuffre after she was trafficked by Epstein. He paid millions to Ms Giuffre, a woman he claims never to have met, to settle a civil sexual assault claim in 2022.
Royal Fallout and Ongoing Scrutiny
Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following an interview on BBC Newsnight. The publication of Ms Giuffre’s posthumous memoir and the US government’s release of documents from Epstein’s estate brought renewed scrutiny over his relationship with the financier. This led to King Charles officially stripping his disgraced brother of both his HRH style and his prince title last year.
The situation highlights ongoing concerns about the handling of sensitive information related to high-profile cases and the impact on survivors seeking justice. As investigations continue, the alleged secret redactions add another layer of controversy to the already tumultuous Epstein saga.
