The Guardian has issued corrections to two previously published articles. The obituary for actor Sheila Ballantine incorrectly stated her birth year and age at death. Ballantine was born in 1929, not 1928, and died at the age of 96, not 98 as originally reported in the 25 August edition (Journal, p10).
Kew Gardens Palm House renovation details
An article about the Palm House at Kew Gardens, titled 'Saving London's rainforest' (27 August, p11), contained an inaccuracy regarding the renovation timeline. The article stated the Palm House would be open throughout its renovation project. In fact, the building will remain open while preparations are under way, but it will shut when works start in full.
Other recently amended articles
Several other articles have also been revised recently. These include a review of 'Love Cheats', which noted that one romance scam is so hideous that a woman takes it to parliament. Also amended were the Reading and Leeds festival review, which highlighted how post-GCSE blowout shows the dominance of dance music, and an article about Pauline Hanson calling for two nuclear plants on the east coast, insisting the policy is nothing like Dutton's failed plan. Additionally, a piece on Gen Z 'Chinamaxxers' who fantasise about life in China was corrected, noting that the journalist and artist involved can never go back there.
