Brooklyn Beckham covers 'mama's boy' tattoo amid rift

Brooklyn Beckham has fully covered his 'mama's boy' chest tattoo with an elaborate floral design, replacing the dedication to his mother Victoria Beckham amid their ongoing rift. The 27-year-old eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham shared a topless photo on his Instagram Story during a run this week, showing the new ink in place of the typewriter-style font tribute that once read 'mama's boy' over his heart.

Floral design replaces tribute to mother

The floral pattern is a sketch of Nicola Peltz-Beckham's bouquet from their 2022 wedding day, which sources say was the kindling for the family feud. Brooklyn first got the 'mama's boy' tattoo in 2017, long before the frosty relationships developed. The tribute is now completely gone, hidden under the bouquet design.

This is not the first time Brooklyn has covered a parent-related tattoo. He once had a large anchor with the word 'Dad' on his upper right arm and a design with the date '1975' in reference to his father David Beckham's birth year. The anchor tattoo now appears partially covered with various shapes and a star, while the birth year also no longer seems to be visible.

Multiple tributes to wife Nicola

The floral design is one of several tributes to his wife on his body. He also has a portrait of Nicola on his upper arm, a recreation of her eyes on the back of his neck, her first name on his neck, and both his and his wife's surnames scrawled on his stomach. He also has their wedding vows inked, which read: 'Nicola when you walked down the aisle you took my breath away you look so beautiful tonight and always.'

Brooklyn explained his decision to adopt a double-barrel surname after marriage: 'It was my idea because I wanted to honour her family's last name as well, and you know, I thought when we have kids, I think it'll be so cute to have little Peltz-Beckhams running about.'

Family rift continues

Brooklyn's tattoo cover-up is the latest sign of the ongoing estrangement between him and his parents. The 27-year-old, who has around 100 tattoos according to his own estimate, has been photographed without his mother at recent family events. The floral bouquet design, which covers the 'mama's boy' tribute, is a permanent reminder of the wedding that sources say sparked the family feud.
