US to Issue Limited-Edition Passports Featuring Trump’s Image for 250th Anniversary
US to Issue Trump Portraits on New Passports

The United States government will issue passports featuring a large photograph of President Donald Trump on the inside cover, marking 250 years of independence. The limited-edition documents, part of the 'America250' celebrations, will display Trump's image surrounded by the Declaration of Independence text and US flag motifs, with his signature in gold. A separate page includes the famous painting of the founding fathers signing the Declaration.

State Department Announces Special Passports

Tommy Pigott, a State Department spokesperson, stated that the passports will feature 'customized artwork and enhanced imagery' while maintaining existing security features. He described the US passport as one of 'the most secure documents in the world.' The department will release a limited number of these passports for the 'historic occasion' but did not specify the quantity.

Broader America250 Celebrations

The passports are part of the administration's America250 program, which also includes a Grand Prix race on the National Mall and a UFC fight on the White House south lawn. This initiative commemorates the 250th anniversary of US independence.

Trump’s Image Across US Institutions

The passport effort is the latest in a series of moves to feature Trump’s face on US institutions and documents. A banner of Trump already hangs at the Department of Justice building, as well as at the Departments of Labor and Agriculture, where it appears alongside Abraham Lincoln under the words 'Growing America Since 1862.'

The national parks pass for 2026 also features Trump’s face alongside George Washington’s, under the phrase 'America the Beautiful.' After visitors began covering his image with stickers in protest, the National Park Service updated its policy to warn that altering the pass could render it invalid.

Additionally, the US Mint has published draft designs for a $1 coin bearing Trump’s likeness, and the Commission of Fine Arts approved a design for a commemorative 24-karat gold coin featuring a stern-faced Trump leaning over a desk.

Controversial 'Arc de Trump' Project

A 250-foot golden victory arch, internally referred to as the 'Arc de Trump,' received preliminary approval this month despite overwhelmingly negative public feedback. A panel of Trump allies voted to proceed with the project, which, if built, would stand taller than the US Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, and feature a golden statue reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty.
