In the latest Emmerdale episode, a devastating car crash has left three characters fighting for their lives after Jimmy King (Nick Miles) smashed his vehicle through the wedding marquee. The incident puts Jimmy, Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in grave danger, with reports indicating that at least one of them may not survive.
The dramatic scenes unfold as Dawn and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) finalize their escape plan from the village. Dawn had decided to leave Joe after Billy claimed that Joe attacked him at the depot. However, Billy had discovered days earlier that Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) was actually responsible for putting him in hospital, but he chose to hide this truth from Dawn to keep their dream of a happy life together alive.
Graham's intervention and Dawn's confrontation
Everything changed in today's episode when Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) intervened. After finding Dawn packing her car on Monday, Graham tried to stop her from leaving. When she refused, he planted a seed of doubt by questioning how Billy could know Joe attacked him if the hit happened from behind. Dawn responded by hitting Graham over the head with a shovel and tying him up in the stables.
Although Dawn initially seemed to dismiss Graham's words, they clearly lingered in her mind, preventing her from committing to her new life with Billy. By the side of the road, Dawn confronted Billy and demanded answers about who really put him in hospital. Once she realized Billy had lied, she knew exactly what she needed to do next.
The wedding marquee crash
Racing back home, Dawn headed straight to the wedding marquee to beg Joe for another chance. In her wedding dress, she apologized to Joe, who had spent hours believing his soon-to-be wife had destroyed his world. Just as Dawn asked Joe if he would still marry her, a car smashed into the venue.
In a major twist, the car was being driven by Jimmy, who had instructed Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) to meet him at their special place on Home Farm land for a surprise. It appears Jimmy was forced to swerve to avoid something or someone, causing him to skid through a field and crash directly into the tent.
Casualties and future implications
The crash knocked Jimmy out in the car, while Dawn and Joe are currently unconscious among the wreckage. With both Olivia Bromley and Nick Miles confirmed to be leaving their roles as Dawn and Jimmy, and reports suggesting Jimmy will be killed off, it certainly seems someone won't make it out of this alive.
